As Hurricane Dorian Devastates, Activists Gear Up For Climate Strike

GUEST: Bill McKibben, internationally renowned climate activist, published author, and founder of 350.org.

He also is the winner of the Right Livlihood award and other multiple awards.

His latest book,  Falter: Has the Human Game Begun to Play Itself Out? Was published earlier this year.

BACKGROUND: The devastation of Hurricane Dorian has offered yet more dire evidence of the critical choice humanity faces.

The choices are to continue burning fossil fuels and heating up our atmosphere or to choose a path away from climate destruction.

On September 20th, a global climate strike of the likes we may have never before seen, will mobilize people around the world to demand action on climate change.

Hurricane Dorian has added motivation for the protestors.

A week-long series of actions, events, marches, rallies, strikes, and more are intended to send a powerful message.

This message will be to the decision-makers that humans can no longer continue with the status quo.
